Tonight, Sept. 17th 2009, Dr. Freilich will discuss the sustainability movement at 6 p.m. at the UMKC School of Law E.E. (Tom) Thompson Courtroom, 5100 Rockhill Rd., Kansas City, Mo. This 2009 John B. Gage Lecture is free and open to the public.

Professor Freilich will discuss the sustainability movement, focusing on how the new stimulus and transportation acts encourage states and localities to adopt sustainable energy policies. He will focus on specific state, city-county, and regional plans that have been successfully implemented.

Upcoming Land Development Code Workshops PDF Print E-mail

The County Development Committee (CDRC) will be holding three workshops on the County Land Development Code update:

  • July 7 at 5:00 PM
  • July 15 at 5:00 PM
  • August 19 at 5:00 PM

In addition to these workshops, the CDRC will conduct its regularly scheduled meetings on July 16 and August 20 at 4:00 PM.  All workshops and meetings will be held in the Commission Chambers in the Santa Fe County Courthouse at 102 Grant Ave.  Agendas are available from the Land Use office at www.santafecounty.org.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the on-line survey.  The survey is now closed so that the Planning Team can include the results in the Charrette Report, which is currently in-progress.  Stay tuned for more opportunities to share your viewpoint.  Hard copy surveys will be accepted in the planning office until March 27th (this Friday).

Thanks to everyone who participated in the February and March Planning Charrettes.  Your ideas, thoughts and concerns are very important to the process and will be considered in the updated Plan.  The next step in the process is the creation of a Charrette Report, which will provide an overview of the process and the public input received.  This document will be available at the end of March 2009 for public review.  The document will be posted on this website.  If you would like to receive notification, please register using the ‘Sign Up’ feature on the Main Menu.  Thanks again to all the process participants.
